The children of Joan Frances Cameron sadly announce their mother, Joan Frances Cameron (nee Watts) was Promoted To Glory from the Juravinski Hospital on Wednesday December 4, 2024 with Beth and Meagan at her bedside.
She leaves behind Laura-Jane Cameron, Elizabeth Cameron, and Robert Cameron Jr. She was a grandmother to Jonathan Cameron, his wife Meagan, and a great grandmother to Kevin & Oliver.
Joan was reunited with her husband, Robert Sr. (2023), husband of 64 years.
Waiting for her to join them was, her parents, Edmund & Eliza Jane Cox, and her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) and Rhoda Louise (Louie), and her parents-in law, Robert & Elizabeth Cameron. She is also reunited with her sisters-in-law and brother-in laws, Dorothy & Frank Jackson, Lillian & Harold Gibson, Margaret & Ed Gibson, June & Ray Kelcey, and William Cameron Sr. (Sharon)
Joan is also survived by many nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces along with nephews, great nephews, and great-great nephews.
Joan was a life-long Salvationist, soldiering at the Wellington St. Corps, where she married her husband, Robert. Then at the following corps, Westmount, Argyle Citadel, and Mountain Citadel. She was active in the band and songsters, Sunday Schools, Primary Sargeant, Timbrils, and a member of the Home League.
Joan was employed at the Henderson Hospital in the laundry section, and then at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
Over the past few years, Joan suffered from many health conditions which prevented her from doing the things that she loved the most.
Most important though was that she loved her family up to the end and was able to communicate that to us all.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the Juravinski ER Dept. and on the Inpatient Ward of B3.
Visitation to take place on Thursday December 12, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m., followed by the interment at Woodland Cemetery.
