Ivan Jurincic

Beloved husband and lifelong partner to Anica. Cherished father of Michael & Gordana and Julie & Mijo Despot. Devoted and adored Dede Kokoše of Katarina, Ana, Marina, Mara and Jelena. Ivan was born on April 15, 1951 in Sopčić Vrh, Croatia and is predeceased by his parents Josip and Milka Jurinčić. Cherished brother to his three sisters; Katica Gjurić (Janko), Ljubica Modrušan (Mirko), Janica Dragović (Stanko). Loving brother-in-law to Štefica Podrebarac (Joža) and much-loved uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia, Croatia and Switzerland. He will be deeply missed by his Kumovi, extended family and friends worldwide.

Ivan was an active member of the Hamilton Croatian community and a proud member of the Hamilton Croatian Hunting & Angling club, where his will be missed by many of his fellow “Lovci”. Humble, proud and hard-working, he was always the first to lend a hand and was known for his infectious energy and smiling blue eyes. After a 30+ year career at Fearmans, he retired early and devoted the rest of his time to help raise his treasured grandchildren.

He fought his cancer in the same way he lived his life, with determination, faith and hope; and we are blessed to have been by his side right to the end!

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hamilton Croatian Soccer Club Turf program at Green Mountain Road.

Visitation will be held at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street E. (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, February 24th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Vigil Prayers to be said at 7:30pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street E. on Monday, February 25th at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
