Elizabeth "Betty" Crichton Mercer

Beloved wife of James “Jim” Mercer. Predeceased in Scotland by her first husband Robert “Rab” Elliot and her son Robert Elliot. Loving mother of Barbara Hastings (Charlie). Grandmother to Hollie Wegner-Jaszkin (Tomasz) and Craig Hastings (Stacey). Great-grandmother to Blair and Ruaridh Hastings and Charlie and Natalia Wegner-Jaszkin. Cherished by Jim’s children Jackie Mercer, Steve Mercer (Kathy) and Karen Mercer and their families Kayla Mehak (Mike) and Penny, Cassie Moses (Zach), Heather Mercer, Jim Mercer, Bailey Watson (Dylan) Kaiya and Carter, Patrick Stacey and Alex Smiderle.

Betty loved to travel and took many wonderful vacations with both of her husbands. She was a proud member of St. Andrew’s United Church and the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed volunteering for the Hamilton Concert Band.

Betty loved to play Bingo and enjoyed occasional outings to the Casino.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments. The service will be livestreamed and is available to watch using the link on the funeral home website.
