Loving father of Rodney (Patricia) and Gregory (Laurie). Loving grandfather of Benjamin (Chantelle), Diane (Andy), Justin (Jaclyn), Adam (Terrilyn), Kathryn (Ben), and Jessica (Steve). A proud Great Grandfather to Marcus, Silas, Rosalyn, Georgia, Charlie, Emmett, Callie, Sadie, Isobel, Isla, Taya, and Hudson. Dear brother of the late Lloyd Tombs, and beloved son of the late Hazel and Albert Tombs. Charles and Marguerite operated Rainbow Bay Resort on Eagle Lake near South River ON for over 28 years. He was a do-it-yourself kind of man with a knack for both construction and general maintenance. In the last 2 years he took up woodburning and many beautiful pictures now hang in various homes, rooms, and offices. Most importantly, Charles was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ from an early age and would serve and praise the Lord with his voice in song or the spoken word. He sang in many churches as a guest soloist and often sang tenor in gospel quartets. Over the last 2 years, he conducted Sunday morning church services for many residents of the Rushdale retirement home. Charles now knows the reality of “To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”.
Charles’ family will receive relatives and friends at Cresmount Funeral Home from 5-8pm on Thursday, July 7th. Funeral service will be held at New Testament Baptist Church, 21 Jameston Ave, Hamilton, at 10:00 am on July 8th. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the New Testament Baptist Church, in memory of Charles Tombs, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
