Dr. Casilda Amelia Lewis McKinley

On Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 at the Hamilton General Hospital, Dr. Casilda McKinley went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Beloved mother of judy mckinley of Haida Gwaii, BC and Steve McKinley (Flavia Ferrero) of Toronto. Loved sister of Carmen Lewis and Mavis Lambert (Dennis Lambert). Also survived by her former spouse, Goldwin McKinley (Pauline) and former son-in-law, Alan Christie. Dear friend of Bob and Dorrett James, Don Land, Matteo and Chiara Ferrero-Wong.

Dr. McKinley graduated from the University College of the West Indies in 1961 and completed training in Paediatrics at the University College Hospital, with a Specialty Interest in Allergies that she pursued at the Hospital for Sick Children in 1968.

She returned to Canada in 1973 and took over a general Practice, which she continued until retirement in 2008.

She is a past president of the Medical Staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital, and was a member of the medical faculty at McMaster University in Hamilton.

Friends may call at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at West Highland Baptist Church, 1605 Garth Street, Hamilton on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mt Hamilton Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Sick Children’s Hospital in Toronto.
