It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, on April 30, 2022 at the age of 89.
Betty is predeceased by her husband Steve (2004). Betty is survived by her son Mike (Liz) and their children Kristyn (Dallas), Dave (Raquel) and Tom (Megan), and son Doug (Robin) and their children, Melissa (Harley) and Steve (Jen). Betty was blessed with 14 great grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all. Predeceased by her sister Eileen Uravitch. Betty was a long time employee of Sears Canada, working in the warehouse. Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter’s 3 East and especially Dr. Solomon for their kind and caring ways. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 6-9 pm. Memorial service in the funeral home chapel on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10am. A livestream of the service will be available at markeydermody.com and clicking on Betty’s page. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
