Bertha Gardner

Peacefully at Queen's Garden Nursing Home on December 13, 2014 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Charles for 63 years. Loving mother of Chris (Dianne). Predeceased by her son Stephen and daughter in law Bonnie. Cherished Grandma of Laura (Cory), David (Sarah), Heather, Emily (Ben) and Sarah. Great Grandma to Skyler and Jacob. Dear sister to Elona and Janet both of England. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her niece Kim (Tim) their children Amber, Alexandra, Lucas and many other nieces, nephews and family in England. Bertha raised her children and began to work outside the home at various schools as a caretaker primarily at Caledon Girls School where she was dearly missed at the time of her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed most importantly spending time with family. She loved listening to music as well as playing the organ. Special thanks to the staff at Queen's Garden Nursing Home for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME 322 Fennell Avenue East on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Service for Bertha will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Hamilton Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
