Beloved mother of Elizabeth (Dan), Robert (Angelika), and Allison (Adam). Cherished Oma of Andrew, Colin, James, Bianca, Dominick, Jakob, Sophie, Gladys, Agnes, Elsbeth, and Robert.
Alice Irene Olyschläger was born in Repelen, Germany, the daughter of Peter Olyschläger and Irene Kuepper. Alice studied at Westdale Secondary School, Hamilton Collegiate Institute, Hamilton Teachers College and McMaster University. She was passionate about teaching, working at Hamilton and Halton Boards of Education and the Germania Club of Hamilton. She enjoyed reading, knitting and needlework. She loved and was loved by her immediate and extended family and friends.
Alice married Robert Reid in Hamilton in 1969 and remained happily married until his passing in 1989. Survived by her children, grandchildren, and sisters, Helga (Thomas) and Dorothy (Luis) and brothers, Gary (Sharon) and Wolfgang (Marilyn) and her sister-in-law, Willie: and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her husband Robert, her parents, and her brother Peter.

Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), on Friday October 6 from 10-11am. Funeral service in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Friday October 6 at 11am. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
