Predeceased by his wife, Euphemia (1924-1990), and eight brothers and sisters: Jean, George, Bill, Doug, Dolly, Ella, Annie and Jimmy. Left to mourn are his daughter, Judy Gilliam (Harry); his sons, Tunney (Deanna) and Barry (Kathy); his grandchildren, Marc Gilliam, Kristen Coomber (John), Ryan Gilliam (Kyla Wastell), Scott Murchie, Brent Murchie (Heather), Nevin Murchie and Brittany Acevedo (the late Jeremiah); his three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Aidan and William; his one surviving sibling, Shirley Giancarlo (John); and other relatives and friends.
Tunney had a long and happy career at Dofasco, working for 40 years as a foundry foreman and making many lasting friends. He was a devoted hockey dad and, in his later years, a keen card player and Ti-Cats fan. Tunney will be fondly remembered for his generosity, sense of humour, independent spirit and love of life. He was a member of the "Greatest Generation," with a strong character, integrity and high morals. As a father, he was an exceptional leader and mentor.
In accordance with Tunney's wishes, a private burial was held. He will be greatly missed.
