He was the devoted father of Brandon, Amberly (Shani), and Nolan, and a cherished Papa to Theo, Korra, and Ainara. Alan was the beloved son of Mary and is predeceased by his father, George, and his brother, also George. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Gary, Sandra (Joel), Robert (Brenda), and Steven. Alan is also remembered by his ex-wife, Rosalie, with whom he shared many years raising their family.
Alan spent over 30 years at Hamilton Health Sciences, beginning his career as a Porter in 1991 before transitioning to Logistics. Throughout his tenure, he served his community with dedication and compassion, building lifelong friendships with colleagues who became like family.
Alan will be remembered for his generous heart and his love of bringing people together for family and friend BBQs and pool days with his kids and grandkids. He had a lifelong passion for playing hockey as a goalie, enjoyed baseball and cornhole, and always loved inviting his teammates back to his place for drinks and good times after a game. He was always holding out hope for a Toronto Maple Leafs Stanley Cup win and shared a special bond with his dog, Austin, who was a loyal companion by his side. Alan’s warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
As per Alan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
