Age 86 of Oxford, passed away on Friday October 28, 2011 at Liberty Nursing Center of Oxford. He was born on May 9, 1925 in Manchester, Kentucky, the son of the late George and Tennessee (Smith) Davidson. In 1952 William married Edna M. Sizemore in Liberty, Indiana and she preceded him in death on February 20, 1995. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Princeton Pike Church of God. William was a retired Millwright from General Motors after 30 years of service and previously owned and operated Curiosity Shop of Hamilton and Bill and Edna’s Bait Shop in New Miami. He is survived by his three sons, Wendell Davis, William Davis, Jr. and Dennis (Cheryl) Proffitt; four grandchildren, Michael Davis, Aaron Davis, Joel Davis and Alisha Harwood; four great grandchildren, Celeste and Cody McIntosh, Carissa Sambi and Carleigh Harwood; ten brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Delia, Virgil, Carl, Minnie, Katherine, Pauline, Jewel, Jean, and Gracie; many nieces and nephews. William was also preceded in death by his brother Marion Davidson and sister Glayds Smith. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
