Maggie Irene Parks

Maggie Irene Parks, age 85, passed away August 16, 2018. She was born in London, KY on September 19, 1932 the daughter of Robert and Anna [Hodges] Holcomb. She graduated from Laurel County High School in 1950. Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years George Scott Parks and several brothers and sisters. She leaves behind two daughters, Sharon Parks and Susan Goins [Rodney] and two beautiful granddaughters Hannah and Taylor. Maggie loved watching them play volleyball and often travelled to their games & tournaments to proudly cheer them on. She was a charter member of Zion United Baptist Church which she helped start nearly 60 years ago. Maggie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, & friend and was much loved by all who knew her. She was a kind, patient, caring person with a terrific sense of humor. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the compassionate care team from Hospice of Cincinnati. Funeral services will be officiated by her pastor Reverend Mark Hampton and her nephew Reverend Joel Holcomb of London KY. Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011 will host visitation at 11 am followed by funeral service at noon on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to Zion United Baptist Church, 1300 Parrish Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45011
