Kenneth Samuel Whitaker, age 88 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on January 24, 1928 in Somerville, the son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Carter) Whitaker. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. In 1976, he was elected and installed as president of the Second Masonic District Officers Association which includes all Masonic lodges in Butler and Warren counties. Kenneth served as master of Benjamin Franklin Lodge 719 from 1976 until 1977. His other Masonic affiliations included Hamilton Chapter 21, Royal Arch Masons, Hamilton Council 19, Royal and Select Masters, Hamilton Commandery 41, Knights Templar. He was a 32nd degree Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Mason. Kenneth was the beloved husband of Mary Whitaker; beloved husband of the late Sadie Whitaker; beloved father of Kenneth, Ronald, David and Susan; and dear step-father of Michael, Ronda, Donna and Leona. He was also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; all his beloved sons- and daughters-in-law; his “little buddy,” and his sister, Dorothy Hahn. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Russell Whitaker, Katherine Merideth, Robert Whitaker and Margaret Whitaker. Visitation will be held from 6pm until 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton with a Masonic Service at 6:30pm. Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
