Kathleen Jewell Stewart, age 88, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Oxford, Florida, on December 14, 1922, the daughter of the late Riley T. and Goldie M. (Caskey) Driggers. In Liberty, Indiana, in 1940, Kathleen married Howard Stewart and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1980. She retired from Champion Paper with 37 years of service. Kathleen attended West Side Baptist Church in Hamilton. She always looked forward to Wednesday lunches with “the girls”. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Joy (Harold) Saunders; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen McClain. Kathleen was also preceded in death by two sons, Bob and Rex Stewart; and two sisters, Pat Crockett and Jean Kirby. Funeral services will be held at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton, at 2pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, with Rev. Harold Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 12noon to 2pm at the funeral home. The family expresses special thanks to the ICU nurses at Ft Hamilton Hospital and the staff at Hospice of Hamilton.
