Joyce Anna Alvey

Age 67, of Hamilton, died on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born June 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Eugene Ihle and Hazel (Marlatt) Brubaker. Joyce was a graduate of Lakota High School class of 1961and Miami University class of 1965. On June 26, 1965 she married Dale Alvey in Monroe. Joyce was a retired teacher from Liberty Elementary, member of Westwood Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, Elder and Ruth Esther Circle member. She also was a member of Delta Zeta and Delta Kappa Gamma. Joyce leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Dale Alvey; sons, Scott (Kelley) Alvey and Jerry (Leaha) Alvey; two grandsons, Cameron and Dylan Alvey; sister, Betty Davis and step-sister Eileen Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her step-sister Shirley Pemberton and brother-in-law Dr. Ernest Davis. Funeral ceremony will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Westwood Presbyterian Church 1068 Stahlheber Rd. Hamilton, Ohio 45013, with Pastor Joshua Long officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service.
