James Truman Hoskins, age 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 8, 2020. James was born November 1, 1934 to Oscar and Ruby Hoskins in Lockland, Ohio. He is survived by his son, David Lee Hoskins; daughter, Deborah Ann Large (Reynold); sister, Virginia Gale Stevens; cousin, Raymond Hoskins; grandchildren, Melissa, Lalena (Robert), Brandy, Miranda, Tonya (Jerome), Jeffery, Brian (Mary), and Randy; and many loving great- and great-great-grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his wife (the love of his life), Carol May Hoskins (nee Grosstueck); son, James Michael Hoskins (Bonnie); daughter, Teresa Ann Sewell; grandson, Joshua David Hoskins; parents, Oscar and Ruby (nee Hightower) Hoskins; brother, Harold Gene Hoskins; and sister, Janet Sue Hoskins. James was a veteran and was very proud of the time he served - eight years in the Coast Guard and thirteen years in the Navy Seabees. Known for his sense of humor and generosity, he was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, and brother. He was a member of the American Legion Post 681, West Chester, Ohio; life member of D.A.V. 115, Cincinnati, Ohio; member of the V.F.W. Post 4369, Sharonville, Ohio; and a Mason.
