Frank Edward “Eddie” Simpson 87, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. He was born on April 16, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Frank B. and Mabel (Johnson) Simpson. Frank attended Hamilton City Schools, where he graduated in 1947. He was an avid sports fan and loved coaching, participating in, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Eddie was in the Butler County Fastpitch Hall of Fame and State of Ohio Fastpitch Hall of Fame. He also belonged to the Hamilton City Schools Sports Hall of Fame. Frank was employed by Champion Papers for 42 years, before retiring in 1988. He attended the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Frank is survived by his loving wife Joan of 66 years; children Barbara (Roger) Simpson, Terri (Greg) Hoes, Pamela (John) Graf, Diane Thieken, Nancy (Rod) Shafer; grandchildren Angie (Garrett) Finnigan, Jill (Bobby) Overbey, Jackie (Nick) Palmer, Mandy (Dave) Reister, Laura Thieken, Eric (Jessy) Graf, Justin (Chelcie) Harden, Kelli (Ben) Spires, Jessica Boehl, Ashley Boehl, Gabi (Marcquez) Segar, Zeke Segar; great-grandchildren Autumn, Zoe, Tyler, Alexis, Aiden, Mark, Kai, Kendall, Parker; great-great granddaughter Dana; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond Simpson, brother-in-law James Northway, and sister-in-law Ruth Glindmeier. Memorial Services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church 1285 Main St. Hamilton, OH 45013, with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Kevin Judd will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Hospice 2100 Sherman Ave. Norwood, OH 45212 or to a charity of your choice.
