Chester “Chet” Lee Eten passed away at his home on March 16, 2023 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Donna Eten; his children Melissa Przybyslawski (Paul), Joseph Eten (Angela), Taylor Callahan, Tammy Brown (Josh) and Bryan Callahan (Kelley); his grandchildren Brittany (Justin), Stacy, Cindi, Eddie, Maggie, Lilya, Chase and Grayson; his great-grandchildren Joslyn, Eli, Wade, Jaxon, Tilliegh; his sisters Georgeanne Woeste (Jim) (late William Nagel) and Frances Wilson (Lester); his brothers George Eten III (late Judie), Tom Eten (Liz), Gregory Eten (Tammy), Paul Eten (Kathy), Larry Eten (Judy) (late Sandy), John Eten (Lee Ann); Sister in Law Elsie (late Richard). Preceded in death by his parents George Jr. and Della Eten and his brother Richard. Chet was born in Northern Kentucky and lived in Ohio, Missouri and New York while pursuing a successful career in the food industry. He returned to Ohio where he and Donna ran a local business. Chet was devoted to his family and acted as a coach for his grandchildren’s basketball and softball teams. He also acted as a volunteer parent advocate for Cincinnati’s Children Hospital Psychiatric Care Unit. Chet was patriotic and proud to display the American flag. A man of great faith, Chet was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and acted in many volunteer capacities. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed playing basketball, golfing, boating and skiing—both snow and water, and taught several children and adults how to water ski. His nearly life-long passion was cars, especially Pontiac convertibles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11 am at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 222 Hamilton Ave, Trenton, Ohio 45067. Interment will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery 4464 Morganthaler Road, Trenton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made in Chet’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
