Allen, Wayne “Wimpy” Murray, 71, passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, January 10, 2016. Family would like to thank Dr. Haase, Dr. Jackson, nurses and staff of 8.3 for their compassion and professionalism during this last month.
Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Hilda and Murray Allen. Wayne is predeceased by his wife, Diana Gladys. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Debbie (Wilson MacLean), Syndy; sisters, Helen (Henry Scott), Janet (Donnie Walsh); grandchildren, Miranda, Alissa Taylor, and Bryanna.
Wayne or “Wimpy” as he was known lived a simple life, providing for his family as a barber for more than 35 years.
In his early years, you could find “Wimpy” doing a backflip or two, and strumming his bass guitar with his bandmates. He was a true Boston Bruins fan and loved to watch sports. Later in life, his passion became golfing and good times spent with his buddies.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 14 at 11 am in J.A. Snow Funeral Home. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Wayne Allen to the QEII Foundation. Please direct your contribution to Heart Health.
