Sending my sincere sympathy to you Maddie, Steven, Sandra, Scott and families on the passing of a great man to you all and to so many others . I have so many wonderful memories of Walter as he and Maddie started their family on King Street. Every memory brings a smile to my face and joy in my heart. 

We will never forget our evenings spent with Walter and Maddie when they lived in Pleasant Heights.  Walter had the most interesting stories to tell and we cherished their friendship and were so sorry when they left to go to Timberlea.  We had a few visits there and so enjoyed hearing about their families and keeping in touch.  He will be greatly missed especially by his many friends.  Our very best to Maddie and the family.  May his infectious spirit be with you always.

Uncle Walter was a humble, compassionate, kind man who truly had a positive impact in so many peoples lives. 

A fond memory that I have is from back in the 1980’s.  I was a young girl and Uncle Walter boarded with us during the time he was building his family’s home in my community. Uncle Walter would  read to me before bed, every night. I would say ‘can you read the book one more time?’ and he would chuckle and always say yes.  Uncle Walter will be greatly missed.

Although I had lost touch with Walter over the years; he remained one of my favorite people in the automotive aftermarket industry.
 He was a world class raconteur and human being. 
Condolences to Walter's family and to all that knew him.

Walter was the classic gentle man. I always admired his humility and willingness to serve. I was privileged to set up tables and wait on tables during church suppers with he and Maddie. Walter always shared a story or an observation before he put plates before his customers. During construction of addition to the church he and I often found ourselves sweeping sawdust or cleaning paint brushes after the work crew departed. On one occasion as he held a garbage bag and I dumped dusty debris into it he told me, "We must have the important job here- that's why they left it to the end and left us to do it."
On another occasion he and Maddie  showed their kindness in attending a service when I began my formal ministry journey at Grace United in Dartmouth.  I was struggling a bit to find my way at the large church and confessed that to Walter and Maddie. He told me, "we all look around a bit, but God will show you where you need to be." He helped so many people look around and his faith will continue to help us find those places.

My condolences to Maddie, Steven, Scott, Sandra and families. I was so sorry to hear of Walter's passing. There are so many fond memories of Walter and Maddie when they were our neighbours in Middleton. Walter was such a lovely person, kind to all. He had a wonderful sense of humour and always had a funny story to tell. He will be missed.

To Maddie, Scott, Steve and Sandy (and the extended Giffin family) ...my deepest sympathies on Walter's passing. He was a lovely person, great boss and such a legendary storyteller. Never in a bossy way...he would lead by example with his tales. Getting a great message across...but never ever saying "you should do this". he would impart the wisdom and leave it for you to get his message. Last saw Walt at Ed Pardy's funeral a few years back...and he was exactly as I had remembered him. Like many who met up with Walter somewhere in the HRM...there was never a passing hello. It was a long and fun conversation...catching up on all the news since you last saw each other. Kindest regards to you all and I life well lived by an amazing man and personality. he will be missed. All the best to you.

So sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I have not seen Walter for several years but always enjoyed his visits when he worked for Commercial Equipment. He always had a story and no matter how bad the situation was, Walter always had a good funny ending to it. The both of us would always have a good laugh about something. I sold him a lot of parts for his old Mustang  many years ago and I won a trip to Hawaii through Ford Motor Co.. He would tell my wife that he should go as he bought so many parts from me. I thought he was the finest type of human being and I know he will be missed. Rest in peace Walter.

My condolences to his wife and children on the passing of Walter, he was a good man and will be missed. I knew him while he was in the Annapolis Valley, he was well known and respected. 

Condolences to Maddie and the family. I have lots of memories of Walter & Maddie when they were our neighbours while living in Middleton. Walter was a great fella. Always had a story to tell. Cling to your own memories and talk of him often. He will be missed.

Walter was one of the very special folks I ever worked with . Happyiness is still with us through memories of many times with Walter , as a friend and strong leader . ALWAYS there to help with his wonderful abilities and knowledge . Yes, he is gone for now , but will
will be with our creator , waiting for us to join him .
