It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Virginia on July 12th. After a brief battle with lung cancer, through which she kept a brave face and a resolute attitude, her body decided it was time for some well-earned rest. Loved and supported by her friends and family, Ginny will be greatly missed, and we will always cherish the light she brought to us.
Born in Halifax on May 17, 1964, she was the middle child of Ernest and Marie Peek. She is survived by her son Tristan, her partner John, her siblings Patty and Larry, and many other dear family members.
Ginny’s work ethic was like no other, often working long hours both during the week and during her weekends. She always brightened up her workplace with her friendly demeanor, and her attention to every necessary detail. If there were ever a problem, Ginny would be able to direct you to a solution. She loved her coworkers as if they were family, and often went out of way to make everyone’s days go that much smoother.
Ginny’s love of her family, as well as video games, classic rock, varied and often strange television programs made for an entertaining and supportive household to be in. If you had a problem, she would teach you how to fix it. If you were bored, there were plenty of avenues to go down, be it listening to some music, watching something strange, or getting dunked on by her in a game.
Ginny will be greatly missed by those around her, her celebration of life gathering is on Tuesday, August 3rd between 2pm and 4pm.
