Mom was born in Cooks Cove, Guysborough Co., NS and was one of 13 children of the late Murray G. and Catherine (Williams) Worth.
She was a proud graduate of the VG School of Nursing (class of 1959), a volunteer, a business woman, a sculptor, and a fisherwoman extraordinaire. She never met a crossword puzzle, cryptoquote or soduku that she didn't like. Her greatest joy came from gardening, spending more hours than we could count lovingly tending to her perennial and vegetable gardens in Boutilier's Point.
Mom loved the sunshine and spent winters with Dad in Indian Shores, Florida (The Bay Mariner). They had a lot of fun over the years with their longtime, dear Canadian and American friends.
Left with so many memories are her husband David Dunlop, son Bill and daughter Michele (Mike Joyce) as well as five sisters; Shirley Worth (Moncton, NB), Marie Worth (Bedford, NS), Theresa Caswell (Saint John, NB), Marilyn (Robert) Mackinnon (Lantz, NS); three brothers, Lloyd and Lawrence (Joan) both of Horton's Cove, NS, Bobby (Guysborough, NS); brother-in-law Bruce Dunlop (Winnipeg, MB) as well as many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Joan and Marjorie; brothers Wesley, George and Elton.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home. Mom's ashes will be spread at a later date in her beloved St. Margaret's Bay. At her request, there will be no visitation or service. Many thanks to the caring team of Doctors and Nurses both on 5A and 7A at the Victoria General. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cowlow Cove Wharf Society (for ongoing maintenance) or to the Nova Scotia branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Till we meet again... the chickadees will help us find each other.
