Ghosn, Victor John 70, Halifax. It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Victor, on June 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Latifa Ghosn, and children Gus (Heather) Ghosn, Paul Ghosn, Manella (Roger) Frangieh, beloved grandchildren Youssef and Victor, his brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews, in Halifax and in Lebanon. He was predeceased by his parents, Hanna and Linda Ghosn and his beloved older brother, Boulos Ghosn, with whom he shared a special bond. Born in Diman, Lebanon, Victor immigrated to Canada in 1964, working as a butcher in Halifax. It was when he began work in a barber shop in Sackville, where he learned to cut hair, that he discovered what would be his life long career. Victor was ambitious and wanting to be his own boss, he opened Golden Touch Salon in 1971. He was a well-respected barber and in 1984 the provincial government granted him the hair design school in Halifax which he ran for over two years teaching many students barbering, men’s hairstyling and life skills. He enjoyed every day at the Golden Touch Beauty Salon and worked 6 days a week for 38 years loving every minute he spent with his customers, many of whom became life long friends. He was a dedicated member and supporter of the Canadian Lebanon Society of Halifax for over 40 years and was vice president. He was an avid gardener and every spring, could be seen planting his tomatoes on his shop window sills. He had many hobbies and enjoyed watching horse races and hunting as well as a good game of cards. Most importantly he raised his family with love and care and taught his children to be honest and to love God. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
