Velma Lawlor

Velma Georgina Lawlor, 83 of Timberlea NS passed away Thursday June 4th 2015 at QEII Hospital. Born in New Chester Guys Co., she was the daughter of the late Alex Bezanson and Florence (Fleet) Bezanson. Mom was employed at Maritime Telephone and Telegraph for several years starting as a Telephone Operator and held many other positions throughout her career there. She was a longtime member of the St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church. Mom loved children, shopping, embroidery and completing lexicon puzzles. Mom also, enjoyed baking sweets and cooking for anyone who was looking for a full stomach, especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her daughters Carla (Melvin) Newell Timberlea, Pamela of Halifax and Grandson Joel of Timberlea. Mom is also survived by her sister Helen (Elmer) Fancy and brother Michael Bezanson (Lisa White) and also sister -in-law Paulette Bezanson, sister-in-law Laura (Bella) and JR Dusty Miller. Mom has a niece Elan Bachman, nephew Bryan Bezanson and a great niece Emily Bachman, extended family of Virginia Dort, Paul Dort and godson Dean Dort. She was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Albert, and brother Stewart Bezanson. We will all miss her tremendously.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7th, from 2-4, 7-9pm in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8th at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Charles Bull officiating. Interment will be held in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
