Born in Southampton, England. He was the son of Richard and Elizabeth (Calver) Prewett.
Tom came to Halifax in 1972 working with Halifax Shipyard. He retired from the NS Gov’t Dept of Fisheries in 1993. Worth brother of Virgin Lodge #2 and active in senior fitness for several years in Bedford.
He is survived by his daughter Susan (Ken) Winch, Northern Ireland; beloved grandpa to Michael (Rosie) and Katherine (Ciaran); 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Jean Beakhouse and Margaret Bettany and good friend Peggy Langille. He was the last surviving member of his family predeceased by 5 sisters and 2 brothers as well as his wife of 53 years, Thelma.
A committal service will take place on Thursday July 27 at 2pm in St. James Anglican Church Columbarium. 2668 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Northwood Foundation.
