Thomas Tom B. Dixon

Born in South Harbour, Victoria County, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late Austin and Cassie (Theriault) Dixon.

Tom served 31 years with the Halifax Fire Department retiring as Captain in 1990. In his retirement years he loved woodworking, travelling, camping, square dancing, the cottage in Cape Breton, and especially time with family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Marion (Daisley), daughter Joyce Hodder (Jim), Mount Uniacke, son Warren (Linda), Edmonton, Alberta, son Glenn (Donna), Dartmouth, daughter Corinne, Halifax; grandchildren Tommie, Leah, Dan, Andy, Katie, Thomas, two great grandchildren, sisters Ethel Bryson, Guelph, Ontario and Pauline Robertson, Lr. Sackville, NS. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Susan Fitzgerald, brothers Charlie and Dave.

Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Friday, March 11th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Agnes Church on Saturday, March 12th at 10:00AM. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lr. Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of NS.
