It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, Theresa Parsons on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the VG Site of the QEII hospital, in Halifax. Born in Sydney Mines, Theresa was the daughter of the late Daniel P. and Christina (MacIntosh) MacInnis. Theresa was a member of the St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. She loved gardening, bowling, and her Celtic music.
Theresa, her late husband George, brother Greg and sister-in-law Viva loved travelling to the summertime Celtic concerts across Cape Breton Island. She was also famous for her spaghetti and meatballs. This was a frequent request from out of town friends and family. Mom was a private, loving person that put her whole heart into her family and being a caregiver for her loved ones.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Tracy Lynn (Shane) McDonald, Jennifer (Scott) Bonner, Francine (Stephen) Doody, and Lisa (Jason) Kaluski; sister, Margaret (Tom) Lynch; brothers, Greg (Viva) MacInnis, and Bernard (Ginny) MacInnis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paige, Kathryn, Addison, Austin, and Adrianna as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, George F. Parsons; sisters, Ann MacNeil, Rita Penny, Barbara Morgan, Christina and Jeromina MacInnis, and brothers, Jack and Larry MacInnis, and a brother and sister in infancy.
Following mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902-455-0531). Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
