Grant Prince, Susan Kathleen -- 57, of Halifax, passed away on February 15, 2010, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Dr. Robert Silver Grant and Kathleen Ada(Harrison) Grant. Susan graduated with Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education degrees from Dalhousie University. She has worked as a teacher at Armbrae Academy, and also as a substitute teacher. For many years, she has been a loyal employee for Henry Equestrian Plan and R.K. Wilson Insurance Services, Ltd. Susan was an accomplished equestrian and athlete, winning prestigious titles such as Working Hunter Champion at the Canadian National Exhibition, and several classes at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, with her horse, “Warlord”. Susan was a lover of all animals, and was an avid supporter of the SPCA. She was an exemplary person in all aspects, and anyone who has ever been graced by her presence will understand what a special person she was, and how much she will be missed. She fought a long and valiant battle against breast cancer. Now the fight is over, and she is at peace again. Susan is survived by her father, Dr. Robert S. Grant; her husband, Michael William Prince; her brother, Arthur Gary Grant, and her sister, Abbie Louise Gwynne-Timothy; her son, Kevin Robert Brown Crosby, her daughter, Dr. Candice Evans Crosby, her stepson, Andrew William Prince, and her stepdaughter, Jennifer Marjorie Prince. Memorial service is to be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 6036 Coburg Rd. Halifax, on Monday, February 21st, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA.
