Stanley Michael King, CWO (retired) MMM CDII. Of Halifax, passed away suddenly at home on October 1, 2013, in his 80th year. Born in Epping, England, he was the son of the late John Joseph King and Emily Marion (Wood). He served with the RAF and the RCAF for 34 years. Upon retirement, he joined the Corps of Commissionaires attached to the Halifax Police Department. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Jean (Shaw); son, Andrew (Lian); daughters Julia (Christian), Nicola; grandsons, Jeremy and Benjamin Tremblay; sister Margaret (Tony) Dean. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Wally and Alan.
Funeral services will be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax (455-0531) on Friday, October 11 at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel, the Reverend Richard Walsh officiating. Cremation has already taken place with a burial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of your choice.
