It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Joyce Leahy of Halifax on March 21, 2017 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Sandy was born in 1946 in Halifax, the daughter of the late Jeremiah (Jerry) and Elsie (Hartlin) Leahy of Halifax.
Sandy is survived by her brother, Doug (Sharon) Leahy and her sister, Linda Leahy living in Alberta. Sandy was predeceased by her sister, Tina Wetmore (Leahy).
Sandy loved bingo, playing cards and meeting people. Sandy was always willing to help others. She was awarded volunteer of the year in 1990 by the City of Halifax, Ward Five Community Centre. Sandy loved her family and attending family dinners. We will miss her bright smiling face and sense of humor.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will take place on Wednesday, march 29 at 1pm at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
