Ruth Mabel Ashley

August 15, 1921 – September 22, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother.

Ruth was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Robert and Penniah Romans (Clark)

Ruth was a remarkable lady with a wonderful sense of humour. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed knitting, exercising, gardening and loved British comedies.

She worked as a seamstress for several years, but her number one priority was always her family.

Ruth is survived by her son Ron, granddaughter Paula Dempsey (Rick), grandson Kevin Ashley (Nicole), great grandsons Neil Dempsey (Laura Richard) and Hunter Ashley, great granddaughter Ashleigh George (Rene) and great-great granddaughter Emery George.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Stan, daughter in- law Ruth, sisters Jean O’Reilly,

Ella Parsons, Hilda Currie and Corneila, brothers Roy, Earl, Foster, Albert, Sidney and Robert.

A service will be held in the Penthouse at Northwood Manor on Thursday September 27 at 2pm. 2615 Northwood Terrace.

Nanny spent ten years at Northwood Manor where she developed many friendships with both residents and staff.

The family would like to sincerely thank Marion and the rest of the wonderful staff at C Willow 4th floor for their years of compassion and care.
