The family of Roderick A. MacAdam wishes to announce Roddies passing on the 29th of September, 2010. Roddie passed on in the company of his family after a lengthly illness.
Roddie was born January 17th, 1928 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. During his youth he was an active participant in numerous sports in the Glace Bay area. During his retirement he was able to enjoy his 2 grandchildren and was instrumental in their upbringing. Connor and Bhreagh (grandchildren) were the most important aspect of their grandfather's life.
Roddie had a zest for life that few could match. His arrival at any event seldom went unnoticed; whether it be at a family gathering; social event or family christmas; He filled the room and always brought his gift of laughter to all present.
Roddie's favorite place was East Bay; Cape Breton where he was often found in the kitchen of the MacIntosh bungalow; entertaining all present or at his special spot at the MacAdam's Lake Mission.
Roddie was a generous and kind person to all. His home was always open to friends; the friends of his children and grandchildren. Roddie's favorite holiday was Christmas and his annual lawn displays were always appreciated throughout the neighborhood. The Annual Christmas Night Open House hosted by Roddie and Helen were always well attended and enjoyed by all who has the good fortune to drop by. During his waning years Roddie still has the desire and ability to contribute to the events; albeit in a sometimes unconventional manner.
