Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Anderson) Wheeler.
An avid sports fan, Ray leaves behind his wife, Muriel Lennard and his son Blake (wife Janice). Also important in his life were Cory Raniere and Art Baker.
He leaves behind his brother Charles (Chuck), Blair (Micky), and Donny (predeceased); Janet (son Glenn) and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 18, 2013 at JA Snow Funeral Home from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, April 19 in the Chapel at Snow’s at 2 pm.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
