In the Philippines, Dave had been active in the Church - serving as a lector and a member of CFC Singles for Christ. He spent eight years in the Cayman Islands where he continued his service at the Church and the same community, Couples for Christ. He moved to Canada in 2012 and kept himself actively involved in his current parish, Saint Benedict Parish, through different ministries.
Dave had a long successful career in the finance industry where he became an integral part of the Investor Relations Department at MUFG Investor Services, being the most recent, to which Dave got full support and appreciation even through his condition.
Dave was generous, kind, humorous, selfless, caring, and a beautiful soul inside and out. He influenced a lot of people positively in their own faith journey and perspective in life. Despite his condition, he showed his faithfulness by continuing to serve in different ministries while at his current parish. He faced his illness with strength, faith, grace, dignity and courage. Everyone witnessed God’s miracle as Dave fought bravely against cancer particularly towards the end of his battle.
Our sincerest gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, and responders who attended to Dave at the time of his need. Special thanks to ALL staff of Palliative Care 7A, Oncology Department, General Surgery Unit, Chemotherapy Unit and Endoscopy Unit of Victoria General Hospital for their kindness, thoughts, support, dedication, compassion and professionalism.
The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm AST at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax. A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Benedict Church, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax, on February 16th at 12:15pm AST. Both visitation and funeral mass will be made available to all his friends and families outside Nova Scotia thru online streaming. A separate memorial service will be done in Quezon City, Philippines in the next coming weeks. Dave will be laid at his final resting place in Halifax, Nova Scotia on a later date.
Following Dave’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, a part of your donations will be directed towards Palliative Care Unit in VG Hospital to help its patients and their relatives during their stay in the unit.
