BUFFETT (Woolridge), Mary Patricia, 91, of South Maitland. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Born March 17, 1926 to the late Thomas and Suzanna (Brown) Woolridge in the town of Howley, NL.
She left home at an early age to work in Halifax where she met and married the love of her life, Charles Carl Buffett, in 1945. She was a housekeeper, worked at Sobeys and also for Major Foods. Mary enjoyed spending quality time with her family at their camp on Hubley’s Lake.
Despite her illness with cancer, she was very strong, and her mind was sharp until the end. She had a very generous heart, and often seen reading, knitting, and gardening. Her thoughtfulness went far beyond what most people would have dreamed. Mary loved all animals and birds and had many cats.
She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles, sisters, Beatrice, Myrum, Flossie, Dulsie, Alice and Lavine; also brothers, Bill, Elias, Medley, and Stanley.
Survived by daughter, Carolyn (Calvin) Crowell with whom she resided; son, Ronald (Dorothy) Buffett; grandchildren, Kris Steffen, Maryanne (Billy) Steffen, Shawnna Lee Fancy, Carrie (Scott) Young, and step-grandson, Scott Buffett; many nieces and nephews; and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, November 10th at 2-4 and 6-8 pm in Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark’s Church, 5522 Russell Street, Halifax at 2 pm on November 11, 2017. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Mom loved you all.
