Born in Sydney, NS, she was the daughter of Ruth Elaine and Sidney Llewellyn Smith.
She accomplished her dream of becoming a RN and working for 32 years as a public health nurse for the province of Nova Scotia. Her passion for caring for infants carried over to her family and her many friends. She spent many years travelling with friends and family throughout the Maritimes, the rest of Canada , the US, and the Caribbean.
She and her husband enjoyed motor homing and especially attending rallies. They were active members of Scotian Roamers and Perfect Circle (Chapter of FMCA).
She was loved by many and will be missed by all, especially Larry, the love of her life.
Survived by her husband of 43 years, Larry MacInnis; daughter, Janet; son, Phillip; sisters, Elaine (Peter) Hatt , Florence Smith (Claude) Vickery; grandson, Aiden MacInnis and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Sid Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Memorial service will take place on Tuesday, July 7 at 2:00 pm in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel, Doctor Daniel Green Officiating.
