Marion Dixon

The family of Marion Dixon (nee Daisley) are deeply saddened to announce her passing, age 90, on October 13, 2023. Our Mom lived a full life and was deeply loved. She role modelled a joyful spirit, kindness to others, quick with a smile, a sense of adventure and was guided by her Catholic faith. In her last moments she called out to her husband Tom, who passed in 2011, whom she loved until her last breath.

Born January 11, 1933 in South Harbour, Victoria County, Cape Breton to John Angus and Annie Daisley. She is survived by her children Joyce Hodder (Jim), Warren (Linda), Glenn (Donna) and Corinne, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and her brother John Daisley (Brenda).

Marion was retired from the Halifax Herald, was a devoted mother, enjoyed hosting parties, skiing, skating, camping, travels with Tom, dancing, especially square dancing, being near the water, telling stories, trips to the cottage, long drives, but especially spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax on Wednesday October 25th from 6:30-8:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be at Saint Benedict Church, 45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax, October 26, 2023 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Diabetes Canada.
