HIGGINS, ANN LILLIAN, passed away peacefully September 17, 2012, at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary L. (MacDonald) Steele. She was born at Long Island, Cape Breton but lived most of her life in Halifax. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard, of 50 years and three sisters – Marjorie, Theresa, and Sally. She was predeceased by several sisters and brothers. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was a devote Roman Catholic and performed many parish duties. She had a very compassionate and professional nursing career. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 26 Purcell’s Cove Road at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, with Father John Williams officiating.
Family interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery columbarium, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only.
