It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Leroy Logan announces his passing on Wednesday, September 22nd at the age of 92. He passed peacefully in his sleep and was reunited with his loving wife, Yvonne.
Leroy was a strong soul, caring for his family & friends immensely. Originally a proud islander born in Fort Augustus, Prince Edward Island, Leroy lived with his wife Yvonne on John Street in downtown Halifax for 43 years. He is remembered for his famous garden from many of his neighbours in the area. Since Yvonne’s passing 2 years ago Leroy spent his final years at the Halifax campus of the Northwood community where he made friends with the residents and staff alike.
Leroy was father to his 2 daughters Paula & Hiltrud (Horst), grandfather to his grandchildren Justin, Nathan, Jens (Sabine) & Iris (Stefan) and great grandchildren Marlon & Enya. They will all remember him fondly. Leroy will also be missed greatly by his sister Edna, sister-in law Jenny and niece Lynda (Reg) and numerous other close friends and family. Leroy was predeceased by his parents and nine other brothers & sisters.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30th at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home from 5-8pm followed by a funeral service in St. Agnes Church on Friday, October 1st at 10:30am. Private burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Phoenix House in Leroy’s name are welcomed.
