at the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Port Lorne on June 30th, 1925 he was a son
of the late William Brinton and Letitia (Marshall) Brinton. Lawrence enlisted in the Royal
Canadian Navy and is a veteran of the Second World War. Following his years of
service he graduated from Dalhousie Technical Institute and worked as an
accomplished electrician at the old Camp Hill Hospital. He was a life long member of
the Bayers Road Baptist church. His faith was the foundation upon which he lived his
life and he spent countless hours enjoying Bible study, Merry Makers and Seniorʼs
luncheons. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Phyllis Marguerite
(Lohnes); brothers Clarence, Mayhew, Aubrey and sister Marion Forbes. He is survived
by his daughter, Kathleen Greek(Andrew); his grandchildren Kristopher (Shannon) and
Nicole; great grandchildren Abigail and Hannah; sister Joyce Schnare and brother
Hollis; several nieces and nephews, especially near and dear to his heart, Wayne
Brinton and Donna DʼEon. His funeral service will be held Wednesday January 2nd,
2013 at 11:00am at Bayers Road Baptist Church, 7077 Bayers Road, Halifax. Officiant
and special friend Rev Dr. Leslie McCurdy. Reception to follow in the church hall and
burial at Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.
