It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Kowcab ”Kay” Ghosn passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Kowcab was born in Diman, Lebanon on March 9, 1927, to the late Elias and Youssfieh Arab. She was predeceased by her husband Antonios Habib Ghosn, her brother Youssef Arab and her sisters, Jamile (Gibran, deceased) Ramia, Anne (Saide, deceased) Saade.
Kowcab is survived by her sons, Robin (Tania), Ronald (Aline), Youssef ”Joe” (Josephine), Andrew, Mark (Joujou);. grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Hannah, Natalie, Neil, Jeremy , Mark, Boston, Christian, Youssef, Gabriel, Elijah; sister, Alice (Elias, deceased) Gossen; sister in law Margo (Napier) Arab.
Kowcab immigrated to Halifax on December 3, 1952, then three years later married Antonios Habib, who would always remain the love of her life. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren. She was a strong woman with a gentle soul and compassionate heart.
Kowcab worked tirelessly to raise her children with love and passion- teaching them strong values that have served them well. At her core she was an optimist, who always chose to see light rather than darkness. Kowcab’s spirit will live on in our hearts and her life will be celebrated in our stories.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Kowcab’s primary caregiver, Rizalina Bernabe and all of the kind and compassionate caregivers at continuing care.
Visitation will take place Monday June 29th from 2-7 PM at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr, Halifax. Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 111 Clayton Park Drive, Halifax on Tuesday June 30th beginning at 11AM. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Church.
