Kay grew up in Halifax and had family ties in New Glasgow. Born Feb. 26, 1928, she graduated from Miss Murphy Business College and started her career as a civilian clerk typist with HMC Dockyard. She was a long standing member of over 70 yrs. with the Independent Order of Forrester’s. Her love for crocheting, reading, bowling, camping and square dancing kept her young at heart.

Beloved wife for over 67 years to the late John F. McNair; loving mother to sons: John “Kevin” (Karen) New Zealand, David (June), Robert (Sharon); daughter Charlene (Peter) Chiasson all of Hammonds Plains. Eight grandchildren Marie (Leonard), John (Amanda), James (Sarah), Kathleen “Katie” (Craig), Joanne (Andrew), Robert “Bobby”, Alexandra and Antonia. She was blessed to have nine great-grandchildren Aiden, Lillian, Sebastien, Colby, Austin, Cameron, Jacob, Kaylee and Carleigh.
Funeral arrangements: J.A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. Visitation Sunday Oct. 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 and Funeral service Monday Oct. 7 at 10:00 in Snow’s Chapel. Family flowers only.
