It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Justin Le Herissier, who passed away on the 28th September, aged 43. He was born in Scarborough, Ontario to Roy and Margaret Le Herissier and was a big brother to Paul.
Together with the first 7 years in Canada, he spent the rest of his childhood years in Hong Kong and Jersey. He completed his formal education at Exeter University, UK.
After university, he returned to Jersey and worked in banking, creating warm friendships with his colleagues. He enjoyed time with his school friends playing 5 a side football (soccer) every week, going out and cycling around the island.
In 2010, Justin was ready for his next big adventure and moved to Vancouver. He grasped this opportunity with both hands. Shortly after he arrived, he was fortunate enough to go on a sailing trip around Vancouver Island. Looking on from Jersey, it was great to see him having such fun.
He quickly made close friendships and, with whom, he explored the great outdoors regularly whether hiking in the mountains, snowboarding in Whistler or kayaking around the lakes.
He was a great sports lover. He captained the school at field hockey and played football competitively at youth level. He played sport like he lived life, with great heart and loyalty. Watching sports was also a great passion; he loved the nuances of all the sports and was known for his encyclopaedic knowledge.
He had an inquisitive and open mind and always thinking ideas through.
He will forever be etched in our minds with his striking blond hair, blue eyes, hearty laugh and beautiful smile.
A memorial service for Justin will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax, NS B3K5C9.
