It is with great sadness we announce the death of John David Wade of Halifax, on June 10th, 2023. Born in Halifax on July 23rd, 1945, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Leona (Jakoubek) Wade. John David attended College Street School, St. Francis School and St. Mary’s University High School. He graduated from St. Mary’s University and Dalhousie University Law School. He articled with the Department of the Attorney General and he acted as a Crown Prosecutor. He was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in1985.
He was a long-time member of the Ashburn Golf Club. A game he so enjoyed playing over the years with his late father and his sons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara (MacInnes); his children, Jonathan (Sarah Purdy), Gregory (Meaghan Hollett), Jennifer (Will Diamond); and his sister, Sally Wade all of Halifax.
At John David’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
We would like to thank the healthcare workers at the Halifax Infirmary Hospital 8.1 floor who cared for John David during his final days. A special thank you to Dr. Ernie Johnson for his care and support during this difficult time.
