It is with great sadness that the family of Joan Elizabeth Turner age 63 of Halifax announce her passing due to cardiac arrest on March 21, 2017. Joan was a daughter of the late Byron and Camilla (Sullivan) Turner and step daughter to the late Owen S. Barnard. She was also predeceased by her partner, Joseph Walsh.
Joan was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School graduating at the top of her class. She was an employee of both the Royal Bank of Canada in Sherbrook, NS and the Royal Bank main branch in Halifax.
Joan is survived by her sister, Virginia Turner (Jeffrey Peyton); uncles, Donald Sullivan (Marg), Glen Haven as well as many Turner and Sullivan cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28 from 4-6:30 at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street, Halifax. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 2pm from Church of St. Michael, Quoddy, NS.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
