Born in Toronto, ON, Jeff leaves behind his loving and loyal father, Roger, Hammonds Plains, NS. He was predeceased by his Mother Judy (Brown) MacDonald. He also leaves behind his devoted and courageous wife of 16 years, Jill (Maxwell) MacDonald, Hammonds Plains, NS and his three beautiful children - Kate (13), Hannah (11), and Ryan (7). He will also be sadly missed by his maternal grandmother Peggy Brown, Sackville, NS and countless friends and family members, who have been by his side during his courageous battle over the past 18 months.
Jeff was a passionate Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Blue Jays fan. He was an avid golfer and a great athlete, having played basketball and softball throughout his school years, and in the Hammonds Plains Community. He was a much loved manager at the Hudson’s Bay Company, where he leaves behind wonderful memories of his time spent working with this team. He enjoyed spending his free time out at ‘the camp’ with his father and old friends fishing and snowmobiling. He took great pride in maintaining his property, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the yard or splashing around in the pool with the kids in the summer, and taking them for snowmobile rides around the neighborhood or for a slide down the backyard luge in the winter.
But above all, Jeff was a devoted father to his three young children, and continued the fight to stay by their sides until his very last breath. He took much comfort in knowing that he was passing his strength and perseverance onto his wife Jill to continue to fight their battle.
Visitation to take place on Saturday, December 12 from 6-8 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 13 at 2:00 pm in the J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in care of Jill MacDonald in trust for Kate, Hannah, and Ryan.
We will miss you ‘Big Daddy’!
