Jane was born in Hamilton, Ontario, June 26, 1921. to Frank and Nora Morison. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Gale and brothers, Brian and John Morison. Jane is survived by sisters, Nancy and Barney Morison; daughter, Jennifer Weidhaas (Gary & family); son, Robert (Michele Samson) and grandson, Jonathan Wilson.
During the war Jane was in the Canadian Women’s Army Corp stationed in Halifax. After raising her family, she sold real estate for many years and was highly regarded by her many clients. She and Bob spent years sailing and skiing with family.
Jane was always ready for a spirited conversation of politics, world events, the stock market but was equally at home digging in her beloved garden. An avid reader she never tired of learning.
Her spirit and courage were never more obvious than the many years she cared for Bob through the progression of Alzheimers which she then had to face herself.
The family wish to thank Dr. Chris MacKnight for his exemplary care and compassion and especially his advice that, “At 92 years, you should be able to enjoy an occasional glass of wine”. Also special caregivers: Eileen Toraja, Janina Onyszk, Alicia Klimek and others that helped fulfill her wish to stay at home. We are forever grateful.
Funeral for Jane will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 1749 Argyle St, Halifax, NS, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Donations in Jane's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nova Scotia.
Reception to follow at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron, Main Building, at 2:30pm.
