It is with Heavy Hearts that we announce the passing of Clifford on Friday, December 15 at the QEII. Born in Inverness, Cape Breton on March 22, 1937. He was the son of the late Donald Vincent and Anne May (Beaton) Chisholm.
Clifford attended Holy Family Convent School, Inverness. After graduating he commenced his working career with the Royal Bank of Canada, Canada Packers LTD., and the CNIB where he spent 31 years retiring April 1996 as Director of Finance and Administration Maritime Division.
He is survived by his wife Rose (Theriault) Chisholm. Sons Jeffrey James (Sue Stapleton), Granddaughter Jessica Pizzo (Alex), Grandson Matthew (MJ). Son Bradley John (Kim Gillis), grandson Evan, and granddaughter Olivia.
A devout Catholic Cliff was involved in different ministries in the church. Marriage encounter, marriage preparation, Cursillo and days of enrichments, and minister of the Eucharist. He enjoyed, many years at his cottage in Arichat Cape Breton (Rose’s home community) where he met many wonderful friends and enjoyed gardening and visits by families and friends.
He is survived by brothers Harold (Francine), Halifax, Leonard (Patricia), Reserve Mines CB, and Tom (Paula), Whiteside CB. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Anne (Otis) Drysdale and Eileen Brogan. Brothers Donald, Toronto, and Rusty, Halifax.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, Halifax.
Funeral mass will be held at St Catherine of Sienna Church, Bayers Road on Thursday, December 21, at 10am. No visitation by request.
