Born in Terence Bay he was the only surviving child of Henry (Buck) Pettipas and Ida Jollimore.
In his younger years he was an avid baseball player. Playing for the Terence Bay Thunder Birds and Whites Lake Eagles. Loved hockey and Nascar, Dale Earnhardts biggest fan.
Dad was a dedicated tradesman. Worked very hard at his trade as a Sprinkler Fitter for almost 60 years. Just this September past he walked proudly across the stage to receive his 55 year commemoration from Local 56 Plumbers and Pipefitters union.
Anyone who knew our father would know that he could build or craft anything out of nothing. All self taught he has built go carts, restored cars and built the family home that my Mom continues to reside. No job was to big or too smalland took pride in everything he did. His love of automobiles was evident. At anytime during our lives there were several cars and trucks that rotated through our back yard. Some stayed and some left and he regretted everyone he sold. He was very proud of his classic treasures and we will continue to cherish them as he had wished. A compassionate soul for animals, a big softy if you will...ll of our family pets and grand pets were loved beyond. Along with all of the stray cats in the neighbourhood who he fed faithfully for many years.
We are thankful fo beautiful memories, we miss him beyond words can convey. I am hoping we will always be able to here you whistle and sing. Remember how your face would lite up with that smile and glint in your eye when you would see us. We are going to miss your jokes and your not so suttle sarcasm. We love you Dad ...
Left on this earth to mourn is his wife of 53 years Marlene (Tucker), daughter Yvonne (Greg), son Victor (Courtney) and special Buddy Jacob, special sister Dorothy Slaunwhite, Molly and Lady.
There will be no service at Dads request. Special thanks to Palliative Care Home Team, Hospice Halifax for there exceptional care. Dr Jeff Colp for the many years. We are so appreciative of you all. Donations can be made in Dads name to Hospice Halifax.
Till we meet again.......
