Harold "Red" Conrad

Harold “Red” Conrad, born August 9th, 1928 passed away peacefully at home March 17, 2022. Harold was born in Halifax NS to Harold “Bub” and Maude (Power) Conrad. Harold married Mary ( Nickerson), June 1953. He is preceded by his parents, sister Dorothy (Dolly) Larkin, brother William (Billy) and grandson Michael Conrad.

Harold attended Oxford Street School, Halifax. He was a member of the Halifax Fire Department for 32 years, rising thru the ranks to Platoon Chief at retirement. He loved spending time at “The Camp” on the lake in Chezzetcook feeding the birds, hummingbirds and fishing. Harold loved all sports especially hockey, golf and baseball. He was a lifetime Montreal Canadiens hockey fan.

Harold was a caring, loving husband and a supportive father. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary, of 68 years. Children, Paul (Patricia Falvey), Janet (Sean) Smith, Brian (Carolyn Gibson), Susan (Michael) Culligan. Grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick, Chera Lena, Stephen, David and Brayden. Great grandchildren, Sofia, Olivia and Aria, nieces and nephews.

Cremation entrusted to Cruickshanks, Halifax. No visitation by request. Family remembrance at later date.
